Synthesis and Characterization of Titanium and Graphite Powder Mixed Electric Discharge Machining on Inconel 718

Electric discharge machining is extensively used to process difficult cut materials such as superalloys, composite etc. The quality of can be improved by adding particles into the dielectric fluid which commonly known powder mixed electric (PMEDM). In present study, titanium and graphite are added effects powders have been analysed on material removal rate, surface roughness, microhardness morphology analysis. Six experiments conducted considering each with three different levels pulse current 4A, 8A 12A. analysis result indicates MRR, roughness significantly increase current. Titanium EDM improves MRR but reduces quality. SEM investigations elucidate that samples machined fewer defects, cracks, microholes layer deposition compared sample Graphite powder.
